In 1977, Gometegui began his journey in the manufacture of components for the heavy industry, offering our clients high quality solutions since our beginnings. This led Gometegui to be one of the leading workshops in Europe for the manufacture of large components. It has not been an easy road and the Company suffered a significant decrease in its activity in 2017, as a result of the fall of the mining market.

After 40 years of history, a new Ownership took over the Management of this great company leading an ambitious project to ensure that Gometegui becomes a benchmark in the heavy industry manufacturing.

This project relies on the experience of the people who have been part of the history of the Company and on the privileged facilities that allow the manufacture of components up to 200 tons. This new period consist of two main strategic axes:

• Operational excellence based on the lean manufacturing philosophy, with a main focus on the satisfaction of our customers and the development of the workforce.
• Diversification of sectors. Applying our know-how to other industries with less weight in the Company so far: offshore, Big Science. Hydro, Nuclear or Steel industry.

2020 has been a complicated year due to the pandemic that is putting us all in an unprecedented situation. However, we keep intact our objectives to achieve a turnover of 12 million Euros by 2022, contributing to job creation and economic growth of the territory.
